4-6 Weeks Before Moving Day:
- Create a moving binder or folder to keep all your moving-related documents and receipts organized.
- Take inventory of your belongings and decide what you want to keep, donate, or sell.
- Research and hire a reputable moving company (like us:) or start gathering quotes if you plan to do it yourself.
- Notify your current landlord or real estate agent about your move-out date.
- Start collecting packing supplies such as boxes, tape, bubble wrap, and markers.
- Begin packing non-essential items, starting with items you rarely use.
- Inform utility companies, internet providers, and other service providers about your upcoming move and schedule disconnection or transfer of services.
- Notify your insurance company about your move and inquire about transferring or updating your policies.
3 Weeks Before Moving Day:
- Submit a change of address form to the post office and update your address with relevant institutions such as banks, credit card companies, and subscriptions.
- Begin packing more frequently used items while labeling boxes with their contents and destination rooms.
- Confirm arrangements with your moving company or make sure you have a solid plan in place if you’re moving on your own.
- Arrange for the transfer or cancellation of any local memberships or subscriptions.
2 Weeks Before Moving Day:
- Make arrangements for the transfer of your children’s school records if necessary.
- Pack a suitcase with essential items you’ll need during the first few days in your new home.

- Clean and organize your current home, making sure everything is in order for the move-out inspection.

1 Week Before Moving Day:
